Spring Recitals 2008
Further to the huge success of our Autumn programme in 2007
we are delighted to present three Sunday
lunch recitals this Spring. Performances will be in intimacy of the house in the Print Room, preceded by a delicious lunch in our Conservatory Dining Room.
24th February, Tara Erraught (Mezzo-soprano) and Giusieppe De Ligia (Baritone)
Accompanied by Fiachra Garvey (piano). They will be performing Venetian and Neopolitan songs.
16th March, Virginia Kerr (Soprano) accompanied by Roy Holmes (piano). Virginia will performing works by Tauber, Novello and Puccini and her latest Cd - My Heart and I
4th May Imelda Drumm (Mezzo Soprano) and Vivienne Hassel (Soprano). They will be performing opera arias and duets.
Lunch at 1pm, followed by recital at 3pm.
Tickets are €85 per person incl lunch
Special rate of €70 per person for two or more recitals
Very special bed and breakfast rates from €90 per person for
Sunday and €115 for Saturday night.

Opera for a Summer’s Evening
Featuring renowned Soprano Cara O’Sullivan

Following the success of “Opera on the Lawn”, Marlfield House is delighted
to present “Opera for a Summer’s Evening “ performed by international Soprano Cara O’Sullivan with Bass Baritone John Molloy, accompanied by Mairead Hurley on piano. The concert will take place under canopy on the lawn where the scene is set for a splendid programme of music and singing from the delightful world of opera, operetta and song including ………..

Brian Kennedy
performing in a
Marquee on the Lawn

Marlfield House is delighted to present a concert featuring the international singer Brian Kennedy in a marquee in the gardens. Brian will be performing songs from his latest cd ‘ Interpretations’.
Champagne bar and gardens will be open from 5pm

Mark O’Neill Exhibitions

Mark O’Neill
Mark O’Neill was born in Lancashire in 1963 to native Irish parents. As a child his family moved around from England to Mauritius, South Africa, Nigeria and Malta, but with all this travel he still studied at Kingston College of Art, London where he graduated with First Class Honors. Originally settling in Ireland in a Millhouse in Killeigh, Co Offaly, followed by a few years in Castledermot, Co Kildare, Mark is now settled with his partner and is restoring a small regency villa in Wexford.
For several years he worked as a high profile illustrator. His clients included Harrods, Guinness, Southern Comfort and Royal Mail. He designed several posters for Warner Brothers that were used worldwide illustrating their feature films including the posters for “The Big Easy” and “Heavenly Pursuits”.
Mark’s illustration work has also appeared on many book jacket covers including Catherine Cookson, James Herroit, Frederick Raphael, Noel Virtue and many others.
He moved home to Ireland in the late eighties and has had sell-out shows around Ireland in Wexford, Kilkenny, Louth, Killarney and Galway.
He won awards four years running at the Arnotts Portrait Exhibition, Dublin He has also exhibited at the annual “Iontas” exhibition in Sligo and the “Eigse” exhibition in Carlow.
Six of Mark’s pictures were included in an exhibition of Irish art in New York, “Ireland: Crossing Borders”, Gallery Revel (Sept/Oct 1998) where he was very well received and all his paintings sold. He recently had a sell out show in Adams where ecord prices were achieved.
