As the residence of the Earls of Courtown, in its day Marlfield House welcomed the gentry in their pursuit of leisure. The Bowe family have maintained the traditions of country pursuits and today guest can enjoy the luxury accommodations of the house and a host of activities. We also have a croquet lawn and tennis court on the grounds and many different breeds of duck and geese and black swans on the lake

Equestrian:
Country Wexford offers beautiful horse trail riding country. We can arrange riding in a local riding school for people with all levels of experience.

Marlfield is close to many well-known Golf Clubs, which include the following:

5 minutes, The European, Woodenbridge and Enniscorthy 25 minutes, Arklow 15 minutes, Druid's Glen and Wexford Golf Club 45 minutes, St Helen's Bay 55 minutes and Mount Juliet 1¼ hours. Walking : The long white sandy beaches of the east coast and the many walks and trails through the hills and lakes of Wicklow provide ample choice for the avid walker.

Gardens : Wexford and Wicklow have more than a few very famous gardens including Powerscourt, Kilruddery, Mount Usher, Kilmokee, Johnstown Castle and a number of other gardens within 45 minutes of Marlfield.

County Wicklow : "The Garden of Ireland" is steeped in history and scenic beauty. Glendalough and its monastic settlements, the Sally Gap and the Blessington lakes to name but a few specific spots, are all well worth a visit and just a short drive from Marlfield.

Historical/Heritage : Historical Houses such as Avondale House and the splendid Russborough House are only a short distance away. Heritage sites in the area include the Dunbrody Emigrant Ship, the 1798 Centre in Enniscorthy and Wexford Heritage Park.

County Kilkenny : Kilkenny City is Ireland's Medieval Capital with its 12th Century Castle and cathedral, abbeys and many leading craftsperson is the perfect destination for a day outing.
