Virginia will performing works by Tauber, Novello and Puccini and her latest Cd - My Heart and I 4th May Imelda Drumm (Mezzo Soprano) and Vivienne Hassel (Soprano). They will be performing opera arias and duets. Berry Brothers Wine and Gourmet Weekend, “The great wines of Burgundy”, 29th February for two nights Put a Spring in your step with a weekend of glorious food and Burgundy wines at Marlfield. Ben Hawkins of Berry Brothers, an expert on burgundies, will talk you though the wines and get your taste buds tingling! The weekend will commence with a champagne reception on Friday followed by a delicious dinner with accompanying burgundies. A tutored tasting will precede a light lunch on Saturday and there will be gala dinner that evening. The menus for the weekend will be expecially selected to best suite the Berry Brothers chosen wines. The cost will be from €495 per person sharing including champagne and canape reception on Friday, two evenings of gourmet dinner and wines, tutored tasting with lunch on Saturday and bed and breakfast on both nights. For those who wish only to attend the dinners, the cost would be €95 on Friday or Saturday night including wine. Garden Tour, Sunday 6th April for two nights Join us for two nights dinner, bed, breakfast and lunch and a gardening course with Frances MacDonald, renowned gardening expert, who trained in the National Botanic Gardens and has worked in gardening for over thirty years. We will visit the Bay Garden where Frances and Iain have created an astounding array of different garden rooms followed by a browse at Springmount Garden Centre where Elaine Warren specialises in large Italian specimens and topiary and has the largest selection of herbaceous perennials in Ireland (10% discount available) . On Tuesday we will visit Altamount Gardens, one of the most romantic gardens in the country often referred to as the “Jewel in Irelands Gardening Crown”. Another delicious lunch in Marlfield followed by wind down and a chat. The course starts with the wine reception on Sunday at 7pm and finishes after lunch on Tuesday. Price includes wine reception on Sunday, dinner, bed, and breakfast on Sunday and Monday night, lunch on Monday and Tuesday and will be from €395 per person sharing a double room. €65 for day trip only including lunch. Mark O' Neill Exibitions Mark O' NeillMark O’Neill was born in Lancashire in 1963 to native Irish parents. As a child his family moved around from England to Mauritius, South Africa, Nigeria and Malta, but with all this travel he still studied at Kingston College of Art, London where he graduated with First Class Honors. Originally settling in Ireland in a Millhouse in Killeigh, Co Offaly, followed by a few years in Castledermot, Co Kildare, Mark is now settled with his partner and is restoring a small regency villa in Wexford. | |||
